Benefits of using SEO on your website

We have previously discussed what SEO is and the differences between SEO and SEM strategies for your website (you can read the blog post “What is SEM?”). Now it’s time to look at the advantages of implementing an SEO strategy for your website.

You start searching and… thousands of ads appear. But you want reliable information, so you keep scrolling. Sound familiar? Eventually, you come across articles explaining the features of the phone you’re interested in.

With that simple visit, the website has gained a new visitor. Even though the article is written to inform rather than to sell, a relationship between the visitor and the brand has already begun. You may then continue browsing the website to find the phone, and the blog post itself might even include a purchase link.

This is what we call inbound marketing, and it corresponds to the attraction stage.

2. You attract visitors who are genuinely interested in your brand

This is one of the great advantages of SEO.

Returning to the mobile phone example: just like you, many people will reach content that has been created to answer their questions. By producing valuable content and optimising it for search engines, your website will organically attract visitors who are already interested in your products or services.

And since those visitors are already interested in the topic you’re addressing, the chances of making a sale increase — or at least of receiving enquiries if the purchase requires more consideration.

In the end, you decide to buy the phone. You remember that the website where you found answers to your questions also sells the product, and you trust it because it helped you earlier in your research.

That trust becomes the first step towards a possible purchase.

If your content meets these three criteria, search engines are more likely to rank it organically in top positions. That’s why it is advisable for articles to be written by specialists in the relevant field.

Ranking content is not only about making sales. You are also adding value to your brand by providing useful and relevant information to your visitors.

In a way, you are educating users and helping them understand aspects they may not have been aware of. This allows them to make more informed and confident decisions. Few things are more satisfying than knowing that what you are buying truly meets your expectations.

Returning to the mobile phone example: if you carefully research the features you need, compare models and understand their prices, you will choose the option that best suits your needs. When you buy it, you will be far less likely to return it because it matches what you expected.

As mentioned earlier, SEO requires patience and ongoing work. However, it often involves less direct investment than paid advertising campaigns, although it does require professionals such as SEO specialists or content creators.
